This inexpensive, compact and lightweight sampler is designed for Zebra Mussel sampling in lakes and slow moving water.  This multi-plate sampler is ideal for collecting density and size distribution data on Zebra and Quagga Mussels (Dreissena spp.)  The varying sized plates are made out of inexpensive masonite and are meant to be disposable.  This prevents the cross contamination of other lakes  that is possible when reusing samplers. 

Suspend it, float it or attach it to submerged objects such as boulders or stakes. Constructed of 1/8” (3 mm) thick tempered masonite for longer field life, with nylon spacers and SS hardware. Includes wingnut for quick disassembly. Weights and tether lines can be attached.

Note: Not all Hester Dendy Samplers are made equal.  The protocol masonite is the rare dual smooth sided tempered variety originally used.  Material with one rough side is not appropriate.  Additionally, our samplers use real stainless hardware; test with a magnet, and don't get "stuck" trying to disassemble your sampler.
